End of 2024… and a New Year.

October 15th - December 7th

Medicare Annual Enrollment Period

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for 2025 is a key time when Medicare beneficiaries can make changes to their Medicare coverage. This period runs from October 15 to December 7, 2024. Here’s a breakdown of what you can do during this period:

  1. Review and Compare Plans: You can review your current Medicare plans and compare them with other available options. This is a good time to check if there are new plans that might better suit your needs or if there have been changes to your current plan.

  2. Switch Between Plans:

    • Medicare Advantage (Part C): You can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another or switch from Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) to a Medicare Advantage plan.

    • Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage): You can switch from one Part D plan to another or enroll in a Part D plan if you currently don't have one.

  3. Return to Original Medicare: If you’re currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, you can switch back to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) during this time.

  4. Enroll in a New Plan: If you missed the Initial Enrollment Period when you first became eligible for Medicare, you can sign up for a new Medicare Advantage plan or a Part D plan during the AEP.

The Open Enrollment Period for 2025 under the Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as "Obamacare") allows individuals to enroll in or make changes to their health insurance plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace. For 2025, the Open Enrollment Period is set to run from November 1, 2024, to December 15, 2024.

Here’s what you need to know about this period:

  1. Enroll in a New Plan: If you do not currently have health insurance through the Marketplace or wish to change your current plan, this is the time to explore your options and enroll in a new plan.

  2. Switch Plans: If you already have a Marketplace plan but want to switch to a different one, you can do so during this period. This might be necessary if your current plan no longer meets your needs or if you find a plan with better coverage or lower costs.

  3. Update Information: If you have had changes in your household, income, or other circumstances that affect your eligibility or financial assistance, you should update your information to ensure you receive the correct subsidies and coverage.

  4. Eligibility for Subsidies: During Open Enrollment, you can apply for financial assistance based on your income, which can help lower your monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs.

  5. Plan Comparison: The Marketplace offers various plans with different coverage options and costs. It’s a good time to compare plans to find one that fits your needs and budget.

Important Note: If you miss the Open Enrollment Period, you may not be able to get or change Marketplace coverage until the next Open Enrollment Period unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a qualifying life event, such as a change in income, household size, or a loss of other health coverage.

The coverage selected during this period will begin on January 1, 2025. Make sure to review and select your plan by December 15, 2024, to ensure your coverage starts on time.

We are growing!

As the Medicare Annual Enrollment period concludes and the Open Enrollment for the Marketplace comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year. 2024 has been a transformative time for me, marked by significant changes and growth. I've had the opportunity to move into a new space, strengthen my online presence, and welcome Amber, a fantastic new agent who is quickly gaining valuable experience in the world of Medicare. This year also marked a major milestone in my career—celebrating 20 years in the insurance business. It's been an exciting journey, and I am deeply grateful for the progress and growth.

Many people find it hard to understand that this isn't just a job for me—it's so much more. It’s about making meaningful connections, creating a space where you can learn, and helping you build confidence in the decisions that impact your life. For many, it’s about navigating a new chapter, and I feel privileged to be part of that journey with you.

This work is both challenging and rewarding, and while 2024 has brought many advancements, it’s also brought moments of loss. I’ve had to say goodbye to clients who have been with me since the beginning of my career. Their passing has been difficult, and my heart goes out to their families and spouses. You are not just clients to me; you are part of my journey, and I will always remember the trust and relationships we've built together.

My desire in 2025 is to continue to learn and grow, to gather as much knowledge as I can, so I can share it with all of you.

The relationships I’ve built with my clients are truly the greatest reward. From celebrating the arrival of new grandbabies and pets to supporting you through the loss of loved ones, every moment shared is a reminder of why I do what I do. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives.

To my long-time clients, thank you for your continued trust and kindness. And to my new clients, I look forward to getting to know you better and helping you navigate the year ahead. Here's to another year of progress, connection, and making a positive impact together.
